Embark the Giethoorn experience at the start of the center which is located on the former horsepath to the village. Driving through the main canal you pass under the multiple wooden arch bridges with on the side the small narrow footbridges. Along the canal are the 17th and 18th century thatched roofed houses which used to be farmhouses. Because of the narrow canal, it is a one way direction.
