Leave Interlaken behind and ride a cable car above the Lauterbrunnen valley, until the Eiger, the Mönch and the Jungfrau stand right in front of you. As the day ends, the light turns gold and the summits blush pink.

Never skied or sledded before? No problem. The guide shows how to steer and brake, and the first stretch is flat for practice. Then comes the run: long, easy and pure fun, through snowy forest, past wooden chalets and frozen waterfalls. Laughter on the faster parts, deep silence between them, and a cup of hot mulled wine halfway down.

The light changes with the season. Some evenings end in the last glow of the day, others by headlamp, with the snow sparkling in the beam.

Back in Interlaken, sit down to a Swiss cheese fondue with bread, sides and a glass of white wine or another drink, and relive the run around the table.

The tour runs at Mürren or at Isenfluh, both above the Lauterbrunnen valley. The guide chooses the run with the best snow on the day, so the route can change with the conditions. Groups never exceed 8 guests.
