This tour combines the magic of a blue ice cave with an accessible glacier walk. Instead of visiting a single large chamber, you’ll follow our Crevasse Track through a natural labyrinth of towering ice walls, narrow passages and deep crevasses. Unlike standard glacier walks that stay on the surface, our Maze tour takes you through the dramatic features of the glacier, giving you the 'ice cave' feel year-round.

Meet your guide and fellow explorers at the Arctic Adventures Skaftafell Booking Hut. From here, we drive you in a 4x4 bus about 20 minutes to the Falljökull glacier tongue. Here, we walk to the glacier, gear up, make sure everyone is comfortable in their gear, and set off on a ~4 km adventure onto the ice to the glacier labyrinth. No technical experience required.

Please note: No two glacier hikes are ever the same. Vatnajökull is a living, changing landscape where ice formations, crevasses, and colours evolve throughout the year. Depending on the season, conditions, and weather the ice may be a vibrant blue, or appear lighter. Every tour offers a unique opportunity to explore this glacial environment, and the formations you encounter may differ from those shown in promotional photos.
