CHRONOLOGICAL JOURNEY THROUGH TIME Unlike classic city tours, we take you on a chronological journey through the city's history. This way, individual locations form a coherent story that makes the city's growth, change and turning points comprehensible – from the founding of the monastery to the dramatic Anabaptist era and the Peace of Westphalia, to today's Münster with its art, culture and crime stories.
OVERVIEW OF THE OLD TOWN We roam the districts of the Old Town and discover why the Prinzipalmarkt nestles up against the Domplatz, how merchants created a unique all-weather shopping street here, where the nobility built their Baroque island, and how the Überwasserviertel got its name.
THE PEOPLE OF MÜNSTER Along the way, we encounter striking personalities: the missionary Liudger, King Jan with his many wives, the star architect Johann Conrad Schlaun, or the tower keeper in her highest office in the city.
EXCLUSIVE: A LOOK BEHIND MÜNSTER'S GABLES A special highlight of the tour is access to an otherwise hidden place: From the roof terrace of the Schnitzler fashion house, we look out over the historic city center between Domplatz and Prinzipalmarkt – a perspective that even many Münster residents never get to see.
WITH MAPS, PHOTOS, AND HISTORICAL SOURCES We supplement the tour with old city views, maps, photographs, and portraits that show you what Münster used to look like and which people shaped the city.
