Day 1: Kampala to Lake Mburo – Evening Game Drive

Get picked up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe and embark on a 4-hour drive to Lake Mburo National Park. Stop at the Equator line in Kayabwe, where the earth is bisected into the northern and southern hemispheres. Enjoy the equator line experience and later proceed to the park, arriving at your lodge in time for lunch.

Relax at the lodge and later head out for an evening game drive, looking out for the park’s key wildlife species, such as impalas, zebras, leopards, elands, topis, warthogs, reedbucks, waterbucks, and hyenas. Capture sunsets with backdrops of giraffes before you return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Guided Walking Safari and Boat Cruise

Have breakfast early in the morning and hit the park’s plains for an intimate 3-hour armed ranger-led experience to spot wildlife species up close, such as giraffes, zebras, impalas, topis, and waterbucks. This walking safari offers a quiet, educational, and safer way to experience the African bush due to the absence of lions and elephants in this national park.

Return to your lodge for lunch before proceeding for a boat cruise along Lake Mburo, the largest in the park. Expect to spot water-associated wildlife, such as hippopotamuses, Nile crocodiles, giant monitor lizards, and several birds like the African fish eagle, kingfishers, herons, African finfoot, and pelicans. Sign off the cruise and return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Morning Game Viewing and Return Journey

Arise in the morning for breakfast and check out of the lodge into the wild for a morning game drive to look out for several animals that you could have missed out on in the previous activities. This morning drive in the wild may last up to 3 hours.

Later, proceed on your journey back to Kampala. Lunch will be served along the way as you visit several craft shops to purchase some souvenirs. Arrive in the evening and get dropped off at your hotel in the city center or at Entebbe International Airport for your flight back home.
