Established in 2008 by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the reserve spans 1.5 hectares and integrates archaeology, ethnography, and cultural heritage into an open-air museum complex.

Start with the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography, featuring over 2,000 artifacts including rock paintings, pottery, jewelry, weapons, coins, and historic dwellings such as portable tents and domed stone-and-straw houses.

Next, visit the Castle Museum, which showcases a restored medieval fortress from the 10th-12th centuries with excavated bread ovens, ceramic fragments, iron tools, and underground passages, some potentially leading to the seaside.

Continue to the Gala Antiques Museum, founded in 2011, which exhibits about 3,000 artifacts collected by engineers, restorers, and war veterans highlighting Azerbaijani craftsmanship recognized internationally.
