Product Info

Discover the Pannonian plain and the mix of Central European culture with Balkan charm and influence. Travel north to find remains of Austro-Hungarian influence even a century after they vanished.

Head to your first destination, the city of Subotica. Visit the city center and see wonderful architecture from the 19th and 20th centuries that makes the city of Subotica one of the most beautiful in Serbia. See the city hall building, a crown jewel surrounded by the main city square, around which are buildings that are former banks, insurance companies, pharmacies, and, of course, numerous taverns in which many poets and artists spent their “productive days.”

Just next to the city of Subotica, there is wonderful Lake Palić where you will take a small break and enjoy nature.

Optional lunch break in Salas - ethnic park where you have a chance to see how a Vojvodina peasant house looked like during the times of Austro-Hungarian reign. If you get hungry, try some typical dishes and authentic rakijas and wines as well as hear local music. Vojvodina food is a mix of Hungarian, Romanian, Ottoman, and of course, Serbian cuisine.

From the Petrovaradin Fortress, proudly rising on the edge of the Danube river bank, you will have an unforgettable view of the entire Novi Sad City. A few centuries ago the fortress was the border between east and west, between two great empires, and still, its underground tunnels keep many secrets. Today one of the biggest music festivals in Europe, “Exit,” takes place among its strong walls.

Walk through the oldest streets of Novi Sad, admiring magnificent baroque, classical, neo-gothic buildings, and colorful facades. Fall in love with its graceful atmosphere and its inhabitants who, even in this era of fast communications, have preserved the tranquility and natural kindness. It has been the cultural center of the Serbians for a long time, still called ”Serbian Athens.”

As a quiet guardian of the city and whole of this region, in a distant prehistory elevated as an island from the huge Panonian Sea, lies Fruska Gora Mountain, which is today the oldest national park in Serbia. While enjoying the landscapes of its beautiful slopes, visit Krušedol one of the most important Orthodox monasteries on the mountain.

Following the traces of the greatest migration of the Serbian people from the end of the 17th century, arrive in Sremski Karlovci. Walk around the oldest high school in Serbia, the famous fountain “4 Lions,” and the Orthodox cathedral.

At the end of this exciting adventure, go to the local winery and a wine cellar where, besides various high-quality wines, you will have a unique opportunity to try Bermet, a dessert, spicy wine, made only in this region. The red one was a favorite drink of Empress Maria Theresa and the legend says it was sold on Titanic as well.
