Product Info

Join Lihnid Tours for an unforgettable day exploring Lake Ohrid’s UNESCO World Heritage.

Begin your journey from Pogradec, heading toward the peaceful oasis of Drilon National Park, a lush natural area famous for its crystal-clear springs, willow-lined canals, and rich birdlife. Enjoy a slow walk along the lakeside paths and take time to savor local organic products—fresh seasonal fruits, wild honey, artisanal cheeses, herbal teas, and traditional Albanian coffee served in charming local cafés.

Continue on to Tushemisht, a picturesque lakeside village known for its traditional stone houses and tranquil charm. Cross the border into North Macedonia and arrive at the Monastery of Saint Naum, a revered spiritual site located at the southernmost tip of Lake Ohrid. Wander through the monastery’s serene courtyards, admire the stunning Byzantine frescoes inside the church, and learn about the life of Saint Naum, one of the founders of Slavic literacy and Christian tradition in the region.

Next, travel along the scenic lakeshore to the Bay of Bones, a fascinating reconstructed prehistoric pile-dwelling settlement, built on wooden platforms above the lake. Walk through the wooden huts, explore the on-site museum, and experience how early lake-dwelling cultures once lived.

Arrive in Ohrid, one of Europe’s oldest continuously inhabited cities and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Join your guide on a walking tour through the city's cobbled streets, visiting key landmarks such as the Church of St. John at Kaneo, Ohrid Fortress, and the bustling Old Bazaar.

The journey continues to Struga, a town where the Black Drin River flows out of Lake Ohrid. Visit the Old Bazaar, the historic Stone Bridge, and then ascend to the tranquil Kalishta Monastery, nestled in the rocks above the lake, known for its cave chapels and peaceful surroundings.

Return to Albania via the Qafë Thanë border crossing, and make your final cultural stops in Lin, an ancient Illyrian and early Christian site. Visit the 5th-century basilica, walk along the peninsula with stunning lake views, and observe beautifully preserved mosaics that speak to centuries of spiritual and artistic heritage. Enjoy a traditional lakeside lunch in the village, known for its welcoming hospitality.

Before concluding the tour, stop at the Red Stone Factory (Guri i Kuq), a now-abandoned industrial relic from Albania's communist era, offering a moment of reflection on more recent historical transitions.

Arrive back in Pogradec, where your tour concludes with a stroll through the city’s Museum Quarter, showcasing the region’s layered cultural history and local identity.
