Day 1: Antananarivo – Antsirabe
Depart from Antananarivo and head toward Antsirabe. Stop at Ambatolampy, renowned for its traditional aluminum pot craft. Watch local artisans craft pots, pans, and utensils using centuries-old methods.
Continue to Antsirabe, a charming highland town surrounded by volcanic lakes and terraced hills. Explore Antsirabe town, with its colonial architecture, lakes, and local markets. Spend the night in Antsirabe.
Day 2: Antsirabe – Morondava
Depart from Antsirabe toward Morondava. The road gradually changes from lush highlands to dry western plains, dotted with small villages and sparse forests.
Arrive in Morondava, a coastal town famous for its sunset views and proximity to iconic baobabs. Spend the night in Morondava.
Day 3: Morondava – Bekopaka (via Baobab Avenue)
Depart very early to witness the sunrise at Baobab Avenue, a magical moment when the colossal “upside-down” trees glow in golden light. Continue toward Bekopaka, the gateway to Tsingy de Bemaraha, passing through landscapes dotted with scattered baobabs and dry forests.
Arrive in Bekopaka and settle into your lodge. Spend the night in Bekopaka.
Day 4: Tsingy de Bemaraha Exploration
Explore the Grand Tsingy, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Walk along suspended bridges, narrow paths, and natural lookout points, all offering panoramic views. Spot lemurs such as the Decken’s sifaka and western woolly lemur, as well as endemic birds, reptiles, and unique plants adapted to the karst environment.
Continue exploring the Tsingy formations and enjoy photo opportunities in this otherworldly landscape. Return to Bekopaka for an overnight stay.
Day 5: Bekopaka – Morondava (via Kirindy sides and part and Baobab Amoureux)
Depart Bekopaka for Morondava. Stop at Kirindy Forest’s sides (not in the heart), a dry deciduous forest famous for lemurs and the fosa (if you are lucky, you may see one), Madagascar’s top predator, and various endemic birds and reptiles.
Continue to Baobab Amoureux (“Lovers’ Baobabs”), two intertwined baobabs considered symbolic and romantic. Arrive in Morondava in the late afternoon and spend the night there.
Day 6: Morondava – Antsirabe (via Betafo Hot Springs)
Depart early from Morondava toward Antsirabe. Stop at Betafo, a small town known for hot springs and thermal baths. Optionally, enjoy a relaxing bath or massage to refresh after days of travel. Continue driving through the highlands to Antsirabe. Spend the night in Antsirabe.
Day 7: Antsirabe – Antananarivo (with Analakely Market visit)
Depart early for Antananarivo. Stop at Analakely Market, the city’s vibrant central market, to shop for souvenirs, local crafts, spices, and vanilla. Optionally, enjoy a guided city stroll, seeing historic landmarks, colonial architecture, and Malagasy culture.
Get dropped off at your hotel or the airport, marking the end of your 7-day journey.
