Morning: The Terracotta Army – An Underground Legion Across Millennia
The Terracotta Army is a burial pit complex for the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor, acclaimed as the Eighth Wonder of the Ancient World. The moment you step into the exhibition area, you will be overwhelmed by the majestic momentum of the great Qin army from 2,000 years ago.
The scenic area consists of Pit 1, Pit 2, Pit 3, and the Bronze Chariots Exhibition Hall.
Pit 1 is the largest, stretching 230 meters from east to west and covering an area of 14,260 square meters. More than 6,000 pottery figures and horses are neatly arranged, forming a grand main formation. The eastern side serves as the vanguard, the north and south sides as flanking guards, with chariots and infantry mixed in the center. Each pottery figure has a unique expression – a thousand faces, a thousand spirits. Some look resolute, some calm and steady; their hair buns, beards, and armor patterns are exquisitely detailed, as if they are about to march into battle at any moment.
Afternoon: Xi’an Ming City Wall – An Epic of Grey Bricks Guarding the Ancient Capital
We will drive back to the downtown area to visit the Xi’an Ming City Wall. You can stroll along the ancient city wall and enjoy a panoramic view of the city, where the past and the present blend harmoniously. If you wish, you may rent a bicycle at your own expense for an exciting ride on the wall.
Xi’an Ming City Wall is the largest and best-preserved ancient city wall in China, with a total length of 13.7 kilometers and a height of 12 meters. The wall is thick and solid, fully retaining its complete defensive system including the moat, drawbridge, gate towers, watchtowers, and corner towers.
