Impormasyon ng produkto

What is the moving ukiyo-e exhibition HIROSHIMA (動き出す浮世絵展)?

"HIROSHIMA: Moving Ukiyo-e Exhibition" is an immersive exhibition that uses digital technology to recreate the world of ukiyo-e, now located in the heart of Hiroshima. Based on over 300 works by world-class ukiyo-e masters such as Katsushika Hokusai, Utagawa Hiroshige, Utagawa Kuniyoshi, Kitagawa Utamaro, Tōshūsai Sharaku, and Utagawa Kunisada, the exhibition uses 3DCG animation and projection mapping to transform the originally static paintings into flowing, three-dimensional images. In addition to the digital displays, the exhibition also features famous ukiyo-e prints and reproductions from the Edo period, along with explanations of the history of ukiyo-e, Edo culture, and the stories of the ukiyo-e masters, allowing visitors to gain a deeper understanding of this timeless art form while enjoying the artwork.

What can you see at an animated ukiyo-e exhibition?

The exhibition comprises nine themed spaces: View, Blue, Beauty, Color, Travel, Brocade, Luxury, and Elegance. Each space features a 3- to 10-minute video presentation, immersing visitors in the world of ukiyo-e. The Hiroshima venue also features exclusive special exhibitions, showcasing reproductions of works by Yoshitoshi Tsukioka ("The Toyotomi Army Chronicle: The Great Battle of Miyajima"), Utagawa Sadayuki ("Famous Places of the Western Provinces: Bigo Tomoharu Port"), and Utagawa Hiroshige ("An Exhibition of Famous Places of Over Sixty Provinces: The Aki Itsukushima Festival"), allowing visitors to experience ukiyo-e landscapes connected to their local communities. Photography is permitted in most areas of the museum, making it ideal for leisurely appreciation and creating personal ukiyo-e memories.
