Around 7:00 PM, hotel pick-up will be arranged within Hobart city center. Please note your hotel information when placing your order. Pick-up times vary by hotel, so please refer to your travel notification for details. We will drive to Taroona Beach (the best beachfront spot near Hobart for catching the sunlight, with unobstructed south-facing views and minimal light pollution), approximately a 15-minute drive.
19:30 Tasmania is the only destination in Australia where the Southern Lights can be reliably viewed with the naked eye. A top-tier aurora chasing spot in the Southern Hemisphere, it's famous for its unique pinkish-rose aurora. The collision of oxygen and nitrogen particles in the high atmosphere creates a soft pinkish-rose hue, where red and green light blend and diffuse, unlike the usual green aurora. The sky unfolds a waterfall of light, a gradient of pinkish-purple, rose-red, and tender green. During its peak aurora season, it's one of the few places in the Southern Hemisphere where it's easy to see the Southern Lights with the naked eye.
Around 22:00, everyone will return home and the group will be dismissed.

  • 1. This tour requires a minimum of 6 participants to form a group. If the minimum number is not reached, we will contact you 2 days in advance to cancel your booking.

  • 2. Departure Rules: Aurora chasing tours will only depart when the Aurora Kp Index is ≥5 and the weather is clear and cloudless. If the tour cannot depart due to insufficient observation conditions, a full refund will be issued.

  • 3. The aurora borealis is a rare and unpredictable phenomenon, as its appearance is subject to natural weather conditions and cannot be guaranteed. If the aurora is not observed during the group tour, no refunds or compensation will be provided.

  • 4. No changes or refunds will be issued for participants who are late or absent.

  • 5. If you are unable to participate in the tour or withdraw from any part of the tour due to personal reasons (lack of travel documents, flight delays, lateness, illness, accidents, etc.), the tour fee will not be refunded and no other compensation will be provided.
