Immersing yourself in a honey and mead tasting experience allows you to delve into Slovakia's rich traditions of honey production. This takes place in a charming honey shop nestled right in the heart of Bratislava city centre. Here, you'll gain insights into honey production and receive a stylish honey souvenir pack.

Your rendezvous point is with a local producer at a honey shop in central Bratislava. The honey and mead originate from a small family-run beekeeping and mead factory situated in Dolna Krupa, approximately 60 km from Bratislava. The shopkeeper will guide you through a concise mead and honey tasting session. You can sample four varieties of exquisite local honey (creamed honey, honey with bee pollen, honey with propolis, and honey with cinnamon). Following the honey tasting, you'll also get to try two samples of Trnava Mead, a Slovakian speciality (an alcoholic beverage containing about 10-14% alcohol).

Mead is a popular alcoholic beverage in Slovakia, made from selected types of Slovak flower honey. The pure honey taste and aroma are delicately balanced with herbs and spices. Historically, it became the first mead globally to clinch gold medals at both the Apimondia and Mazer Cup, the world's largest competitions. Slovaks savour it in both summer and winter, served chilled in summer and heated in winter.
