Both your driving and walking tours start outside the Visitor Center in downtown Portland. Your driving tour first takes you to the West End, which is full of historical landmarks such as the Danforth Inn and the Western Promenade.

Next, you'll navigate through the city centre towards the East End, which is home to an observatory, East End Beach and much more besides. After that, head down to South Portland to see the renowned Portland Head Light, arguably Maine’s most iconic lighthouse!

Your walking tour provides a more detailed insight into Old Port and downtown Portland. Discover the history of the Rum Riot and the Great Fire as you stroll down cobblestone streets and admire striking buildings such as the Old Customs House and the Victoria Mansion.

Delve into Portland’s art district, visit Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s former residence and learn about the struggle for women’s suffrage in Portland.
