- This is a pear-picking event featuring Rifu pears. It is held every year from September to October. (Details such as the dates will be announced on our website and social media.) You can pick two pears with one set. The seasonal varieties change depending on the time of year (Hosui → Chojuro → Nijisseiki → Akizuki). We will give you a lecture on how to identify delicious pears and how to pick them on site. Anyone can easily do it, and taking photos under the pear trellises is popular because it makes for great pictures! The taste of freshly picked pears is exceptional! Come and experience that deliciousness! The event will be held rain or shine. (In case of severe weather such as a warning, it will be canceled. We will announce it on our website and social media.)
- Anyone can do it! The process of pear picking
- After checking in, you will receive a plastic bag and a card with instructions on how to pick pears. Pick two pears of your choice in one set from the orchard. If you would like to pick more, you can do so by paying at the reception. Pears are also available for purchase, so please feel free to use that service as well. (We apologize if they are sold out.) ★When choosing a pear, do not touch it with your hands. Only touch it after you have decided which pear you want to pick. They are ripe and may fall off if you touch them even slightly. When picking a pear, do not pull on the branch. It may break, and the buds for next year will be lost. You can pick the pear easily by turning it so that the bottom of the pear is facing upwards. There are photos explaining how to pick pears properly in the orchard, so please take a look and enjoy your pear picking.
- For those who would like to try it on the spot...
- If you bring your own knife, plate, toothpick, etc., you can peel and eat the pears yourself at the rest area in the greenhouse. There is running water, detergent, and a sponge so you can wash your knife and cutting board. You can only dispose of the pear peels as trash (please take your regular trash such as paper plates and toothpicks home with you). Comparing different varieties of pears with family and friends is a lot of fun!

- ・Multiple people can book one set (2 pears). (Example: A parent and child can pick 2 pears in one set.) ・Please wear a hat, long-sleeved shirt and long pants, shoes that you don't mind getting dirty (rain boots are recommended), and sun protection. ・For groups of 11 or more, please make your reservation through the "Group Reservation" page on our official website.
Freshly picked pears taste exceptional! Pick two that are calling to you from among many others.
Upon arrival, please check in. You will receive a bag for harvesting and a lecture on how to pick the plants.
There are also pears for sale inside the shed. Please consider them as a souvenir!
You don't need scissors. Gently flip the pear over by holding the bottom and the flesh will come off naturally.
There's a low chair under the pear trellis. Sitting here makes for a beautiful photo.

- The event will be held rain or shine, but operations may be suspended in case of severe weather such as warnings. Depending on the pear growth conditions, the farm may close earlier than scheduled.
Important notes regarding course participation:
- The fields are uneven and have low terraces, making them inaccessible by wheelchair. Small dogs and cats up to approximately 50cm in height are allowed if carried. Please understand that we may refuse entry depending on the circumstances.
Other special notes:
- The event will be held rain or shine, but operations may be suspended in case of severe weather such as warnings. Depending on the pear growth conditions, the farm may close earlier than scheduled. Please check our social media for updates before visiting.
