Anne Frank is Amsterdam's most famous resident. Every year, millions of people visit the city to learn about where Anne and her family hid from the Nazis during the Second World War.

On this English-language walking tour, follow the final 600 metres of the route Anne and her family took to their hiding place, their last home before they were betrayed.

Travel back to wartime Amsterdam as Anne's story unfolds through her own diary. Walk past the Westerkerk, see the exterior of the house where the Frank family spent more than two years in hiding, and stroll along the beautiful Prinsengracht. Learn about the Secret Annex, what Anne could see from her refuge, and the lasting impact of her story on the Netherlands and the world.

The tour ends nearby the Anne Frank House, where you can enjoy a drink before experiencing the Secret Annex through an immersive virtual reality recreation developed by the Anne Frank Foundation. Step virtually behind the famous bookcase and explore the fully furnished hiding place as it looked between 1942 and 1944. Unlike the museum, you can explore at your own pace without crowds, making this the closest experience to visiting the Secret Annex without entering the Anne Frank House itself.
