  • This is a tea mat weaving experience at Genta Dyeing and Weaving Studio. Simply choose your favorite colored threads and weave away! Everyone from small children to seniors, and first-timers are welcome♪ International guests also enjoy the process through simple gestures. Many have even mentioned it makes a 'pretty good' mouse pad. As this is an indoor activity, you do not need to worry about the weather. You will experience it in a charming studio located inside the Aya International Craft Castle. Staff with nearly 50 years of weaving experience will teach you carefully. ～Flow of the Day～ ① Choose your threads 　Select your favorite colors from the available threads. ② Staff explanation 　Staff will demonstrate how to weave. ③ Weaving experience 　Weave freely. Those who are quick can finish in about 15 minutes. ④ Finishing 　Staff will finish the fringe, and you are done. Take it home and enjoy!
  • Weave a one-of-a-kind tea mat
  • Just choose two colors of weft thread and start weaving; various patterns will emerge depending on how you insert the threads. How you weave is entirely up to you. Just weave with a clear mind, and a cute tea mat will be created. Once finished, the staff will complete the fringe and hand it to you on the spot.

Questions regarding reservations:

  • Question 1: If children will be attending, please let us know their ages.
  • Question 2: Please let us know your preferred time to participate (preferred start time) between 10:00 and 15:00.

Regarding the cancellation of the event:

  • If you are unable to attend due to heavy rain or other reasons, please contact us even on the day of the event. We will cancel the event.

  • Children under 10 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Other special notes:

  • An entrance fee is required to enter "Aya International Craft Castle," but it is refunded to those who participate in the activities. Only 4 people can participate at a time, but if there is a waiting list, up to 8 people can be accommodated.

  • The entrance fee to Aya International Craft Castle is 500 yen. However, this fee will be refunded after your experience.
