Product Info
- This plan involves firing authentic Bizen clay in a genuine Okayama wood-fired kiln. The clay alone is fired without any glaze, resulting in a simple yet profound piece of pottery. Each participant will receive a generous 1kg of clay. You will make two teacups, bowls, or plates. Bizen ware takes approximately three months to complete.
- Experience authentic Okayama Bizen ware
- Bizen ware is one of Japan's six ancient kilns, boasting a history dating back to the end of the Heian period. It is known for its simple yet profound technique of firing the clay without using any glaze. Our studio uses clay from Tsukahikari Kiln, a Bizen ware kiln where our studio representative studied, and fires the pieces in a wood-fired kiln. Experience the essence of Bizen ware! The rustic taste of the clay is appealing, and the more you use it, the more it develops its own character.
- Even beginners can feel at ease!
- Anyone can make teacups, tea bowls, and other pottery, so even beginners can feel at ease. The instructor will carefully support you to match your image.
