Cook from scratch and explore Taipei through food and culture. Stroll historic Dadaocheng, taste market bites, and learn to create authentic Taiwanese dishes in our fun cooking class.
All Cooking Classes include a local Dadaocheng street and market adventure.
BeMyGuest Taipei Cooking Class is more than a cooking class; it’s an immersive experience that connects you with local people and the rich history of old Taipei. We are located on Dihua Street, also known as Dadaocheng, a historic commercial center in Taipei.
You will make everything from scratch, uncovering the stories behind Taiwanese cuisine and beginning your culinary journey through authentic Taiwan. Each class is at a maximum of 6 people. Alex, the owner and the instructor, is friendly and kind. He likes to share. He speaks English, Chinese, and some Japanese.

Tuesday｜Taiwanese Risotto Youfan｜Taiwanese Risotto (Youfan 台灣油飯) is deeply connected with Taiwan’s food history. People here cook Youfan for offerings to the Gods, or as a gift to friends and relatives. Youfan is also a symbolic gift to the neighborhood to announce the birth of a new baby. In this class, the ingredients include: Sticky rice, pork, dried mushrooms, dried shrimps, daikon radish, pork ribs, and shallots.
Wednesday & Saturday｜Braised Beef Noodle Soup｜台灣牛肉麵, No doubt, this popular braised beef noodle soup has been an icon for Taiwanese food. This class will take you back to the history of 1949, how a retired soldier missed his mother and hometown in China, and then created this gourmet. The ingredients include: Beef, garlic, bean paste, green onion, tomato, chili, and spices.
Thursday ｜The Bountiful Stir-Fried Rice ｜具沢山な台湾チャーハン Get ready for a deep dive into the world of fried rice! From choosing the best produce to mastering your knife work, we’ve got you covered. You’ll learn how to prep your rice like a pro and control the heat to get that perfect smoky aroma. These skills will help you whip up authentic Taiwanese comfort food whenever you crave it. Plus, we’re also cooking up a special tradition: a classic stir-fry dish straight from my grandma’s recipe book.
Friday & Sunday ｜Luroufan, the Braised Pork Rice｜滷肉飯, is undoubtedly one of Taiwan’s most historically significant and iconic traditional dishes. It is also the most popular Taiwanese comfort food. We have this all the time in our daily lives. The ingredients include: pork, shallots, pig skin, spices, and garlic.

- You are welcome to bring your children! Kids under 12 join for free. Simply include yourself and other adults in the booking count; do not add your children.
- Please Note: You are fully responsible for their safety and for preventing class disruptions. We recommend bringing their favorite toys, books, or tablets to keep them entertained.
- Children are not encouraged to participate in cooking. If your child wishes to cook, you must book a paid seat for them in advance.
