Byodoin Temple, registered as a World Heritage site under 'Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto' and widely known as the design on the 10-yen coin, holds its annual autumn night illumination.
As it is limited to those with advance reservations, you can spend a relatively relaxed time with a limited number of visitors. - A view of the Pure Land seen only during the night illumination
The atmosphere changes completely from the daytime, with the illuminated Phoenix Hall and its reflection in the pond creating a scene reminiscent of a magnificent Pure Land.
The temple grounds are also adorned with the illumination of vibrant red autumn leaves. - Museum Hoshokan and a wide variety of museum goods
The Museum Hoshokan, which preserves and exhibits cultural properties including numerous National Treasures, will also be open during the night illumination.
After viewing the Phoenix statue, the Cloud-entwined Bodhisattva statues, and the temple bell that have been passed down since the temple's founding in the Heian period, you can enjoy shopping at the museum shop.

This is an online admission ticket for the annual Byodoin Temple Autumn Night Illumination.
Since 2021, it has become a reservation-only event, allowing you to enjoy a leisurely visit to the Phoenix Hall and the autumn foliage-filled grounds wrapped in a mystical atmosphere.
Enjoy the scenery of paradise that can only be seen at night.

Purchase Notice
- Cancellations, refunds and changes are not accepted.
- You cannot use the voucher after the expiration date.
- Discounts and complimentary coupons cannot be used by presenting a disability certificate.
- Please make sure to present your pass when you are all present at the entrance.
- Re-entry is not permitted.
- The interior of the Phoenix Hall cannot be viewed.
- The stamp collection center will be open, but please note that only written stamps will be distributed.
*No entries will be made in the ledger. - Business hours may vary.
- The event is divided into Part 1 and Part 2, but there is no rotation system.
- Those who have booked the first session can enter by coming to the reception desk between 18:00 and 20:00, and those who have booked the second session can enter between 19:00 and 20:00.
- For safety reasons, the use of any photography aids such as tripods, monopods, gimbals, stabilizers, and selfie sticks is strictly prohibited.
- Pets such as dogs and cats are not allowed inside.
*Carry bags and cages are not permitted (except for guide dogs, assistance dogs, and hearing dogs). - Sketching, reserving spots, and lingering within the temple grounds are prohibited.
- Photos taken within the facility cannot be used for commercial purposes.
- Wheelchair access is possible, but there are some areas with stairs that make it difficult for wheelchair users to enter.
- For safety reasons, the viewing area may be restricted.
- Smoking is prohibited on the premises and on the surrounding roads. There are no smoking areas.
- We may refuse entry to those who are deemed inappropriate for visiting the temple, such as those wearing excessively revealing skin or costumes for the purpose of photography.
- Please follow the instructions and guidance of the staff within the temple grounds.
- Eating and drinking within the temple grounds and bringing in outside food and drink is prohibited.
(You can bring in sealed bottles such as plastic bottles and water bottles.) - Flying drones is prohibited.
