Discover the charming university city on the river Neckar during a guided walking tour.

The tour starts in the Old Town, in the heart of the city life. Stroll through one of the longest pedestrian areas in Europe and enjoy the wonderful mix of old and new buildings, narrow streets, market squares, shops, restaurants and museums.

Admire the old stone bridge, the medieval bridge gate built during the 18th century. See the most famous church of Heidelberg, the Church of the Holy Spirit, and find out more about one of the few buildings in town that survived the many wars of the last centuries. Then, pass by the Old Heidelberg University and learn more about its foundation in 1386.

Learn more about the history of the city from the destruction in the 18th century to the survival of WWII and find out more about the recognition as "City of Literature" by UNESCO.
