Begin your journey in central Athens, opposite Larissis Railway Station. Board a comfortable air-conditioned coach and travel north through mainland Greece toward Meteora.
Instead of a typical highway rest stop, enjoy a relaxing seaside brunch break, with time for food, coffee, or refreshments before continuing. Meals and drinks are optional and available for purchase.
Around midday, arrive in Kalampaka and begin a very different Meteora experience: a 4h, approximately 50-km electric buggy adventure in a small group of up to just 7 participants.
Meet your local guide, receive your safety equipment, and join a short briefing before setting off in your pure electric UTV. Quiet and eco-friendly, the electric buggies are especially enjoyable on the forest sections, allowing you to experience the sounds and atmosphere of nature without the noise of a conventional engine.
Drive through Kalampaka and the old village of Kastraki beneath Meteora’s towering rocks. Follow the famous monastery road, enjoy panoramic photo stops, see all six active monasteries, and visit inside 2, depending on opening schedules and local conditions. Entrance fees are not included.
Continue to the atmospheric Hermit Caves of Badovas, where Meteora’s earliest hermits lived in natural rock shelters centuries before the great monasteries were built.
Then leave the busiest tourist roads behind. Head toward Vlachava and follow dirt tracks into the quieter side of the Meteora UNESCO Geopark, exploring forest routes and off-the-beaten-path landscapes that most conventional day tours never reach.
Drive silently through oak forests and remote trails to the hidden Monastery of Ypapanti, built directly into the rocks and approached via an off-road route. Continue through Meteora’s extraordinary “stone forest” formations, discovering a peaceful side of the region away from the main crowds.
There is no scheduled lunch stop in Meteora, allowing you to use as much of your limited time as possible for the full 4h buggy adventure. We recommend bringing snacks and water with you. You will already have the opportunity to eat during the morning seaside brunch stop and again during the evening stop on the return journey.
Each buggy has 2 seats, so at least 1 qualified driver is required for every 2 participants. If both guests have a valid licence and meet the driver requirements, they can switch and share the driving. For an odd-numbered group, 1 participant can travel in the guide’s vehicle, subject to availability.
After the adventure, rejoin the coach for Athens. Stop in Kamena Vourla for approximately 45 minutes, with time for an optional seaside dinner, dessert, coffee, or drink.
Arrive back in Athens at approximately 10:30 PM after a full day combining the Greek coast, Meteora’s monasteries, hidden hermit caves, quiet forest trails, and an unforgettable small-group electric off-road adventure.
If monastery visits may be skipped or changed after booking, you can get a full refund.
