Explore the vibrant flavors of Thailand in this hands-on 4-course cooking class in Sherman Oaks. Guided by a local chef, you’ll learn how to prepare a complete Thai menu from starter to dessert while working from your own individual station. This 2-hour experience includes a full 4-course meal and is designed to help you feel confident recreating bold, fresh Thai dishes at home.
Begin your 4-course meal with som tum, a green papaya salad made with shredded papaya, carrots, Thai chili peppers, palm sugar, fish sauce, lime juice and optional peanuts or dried shrimp. Then, prepare tom kha gai, a creamy Thai coconut chicken soup with coconut milk, cilantro, palm sugar, galangal, Thai chili peppers and your choice of chicken, tofu or shrimp.
Next, cook pad see ew, a savory Thai stir-fry noodle dish with beef or tofu, noodles, Chinese broccoli and Thai chili peppers. To finish, make mango sticky rice with fresh mango, sticky rice and coconut milk for a classic Thai dessert. At the end of class, sit down to enjoy the full 4-course Thai meal you helped create. You’re welcome to bring wine or beer to enjoy during the class, and most dietary restrictions can be accommodated if noted before the event.
