SnowRide is the only company in Rovaniemi offering a snowmobile departure specifically designed around the sunset. The focus is on enjoying the ride and the changing Arctic landscape as daylight slowly fades into twilight.

Ride through snowy Lappish forests, frozen landscapes and Arctic trails while experiencing the unique light of the Arctic sunset. We also make stops along the way to enjoy the scenery and take photos.

The sunset is the main experience. Weather conditions naturally determine what the sky will look like, so every departure can be different. If the Northern Lights appear as darkness arrives, they are simply a bonus. This is a sunset snowmobile experience, not an Aurora chase.

Small groups and a personal experience

Our regular groups have a maximum of 8 guests. Whenever possible, we separate adult groups from family groups, as they usually have different riding paces. This allows adults to enjoy a more dynamic ride while families can travel comfortably at a pace that suits them.

Families travelling with younger children can use our unique heated children's sleighs in Rovaniemi. The sleigh is equipped with a safety belt and safely pulled by the guide, allowing children to stay warm and comfortable while adults ride the snowmobiles.

Experienced guides and modern snowmobiles

Before setting off, our experienced guides explain everything you need to know about driving and safety. No previous snowmobile experience is required, and the pace is adapted to the group.

Our guides can provide the experience in English, Finnish, Spanish, French, Italian, Catalan and Filipino on request, one of the widest selections of guide languages available in Rovaniemi

The experience starts at our office in Rovaniemi, or we can pick you up from your accommodation within 15 km of the city centre. Thermal clothing, boots, gloves, helmet and balaclava are included.

The experience lasts approximately 3 hours 30 minutes in total, including preparation and the safety briefing, with around 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes of actual snowmobile driving.
