Instead, ring the doorbell of a Copenhagen home and spend an evening with someone whose life story is as memorable as the meal they serve. Through conversation, laughter and personal stories, discover Copenhagen in a way few visitors ever do.
SILVERS is a community of remarkable locals who invite visitors into their homes to share conversations, authentic hospitality and the perspectives that only a lifetime can bring. Behind every SILVERS experience is a remarkable host whose decades of life, work and passions make every conversation as memorable as the hospitality.
"It's hygge with a side of life experience." — The Telegraph
Selected by Wonderful Copenhagen's Regenerative Tourism Programme – Official Tourism Organisation of the Capital Region of Denmark.
A Silver is someone with more than 60 years of experience and a story to share. Our Silver hosts include artists, architects, entrepreneurs, musicians and storytellers, each offering a unique perspective on Copenhagen and the lives they've built here.
Every SILVERS host has lived a remarkable life. You might meet Mikael, an urban designer who has worked in more than 100 cities around the world, or Mette, a writer and self-described "world citizen with Danish blood in her veins", or Elisabeth, a Christiania local who has lived in the community since the 70s. Every Silver opens both their home and their world to guests.
We host weekly gatherings. Join us for dinner on a Thursday evening (18:00–20:00) or on a Sunday.
Over a homemade meal, your host shares stories from their life while guests are invited into the conversation. The atmosphere is relaxed, informal and welcoming. There are no presentations or lectures, just genuine conversation around a shared table.
At the table you'll find a small group of guests from different countries, generations and backgrounds. Some are travellers looking for a more authentic experience of Copenhagen. Others are locals curious to meet new people and hear a different perspective.
This is not a restaurant, a tour or a performance. It's an invitation into someone's home and a chance to experience the city through the people who live here. You'll leave with much more than a homemade meal - you'll leave with stories, perspectives and memories that most visitors never experience.
"From the moment we walked in the door, we felt like we had entered a whole new world." — Hannah & Anna, SILVERS guests
