Nantes: Introduction to the art of miniatures｜France

I am a professional miniature painter, and I will be delighted to introduce you to this little-known artistic practice that is a true inner journey at your fingertips!
The art of miniature is a pictorial art with its own codes and techniques.
Many civilizations have a tradition of small paintings: the illumination of medieval European manuscripts, Indian or Persian miniatures. And also the art of portraits in very small formats, very popular in the 18th and 19th centuries, before the development of photography.

The classes are held in my studio in Nantes-Saint Herblain, in a calm and serene environment. For two and a half hours, you'll be so focused that you won't see the time go by.

You will work with gouache using very fine brushes, on art paper.
All equipment is provided. Just come with your curiosity and your desire to discover a forgotten, surprising, and fascinating art form.

You will have to choose a model from those that I have selected in advance. And at the end of the workshop, you'll leave with your framed "artwork" that you can admire at home or give to a loved one.
