Contact your private instructor to discuss your expectations, goals, and availability. The lessons can take place at different spots depending on the sea conditions, between the beaches of La Salie in La Teste-de-Buch and Biscarrosse, either by meeting on site or by transportation for an additional fee for up to 4 people.
One of the advantages of taking lessons with a private instructor is mobility. In our region, where surf spots are constantly changing with the swell and the tides, the sandbanks move, changing the areas suitable for teaching. Sylvain knows the spots like the back of his hand and will be able to take you to the right place at the right time to allow you to progress in the best possible conditions. In addition to being your instructor, he will be your guide.
High-quality equipment is included in the price, with suitable boards and 4/3 mm wetsuits to keep you warm even in unpredictable weather.
Session structure: 2 hours of practice and theoretical explanation, including 1 hour and 30 minutes in the water.
Once kitted out, you will go to the beach with your instructor for an analysis of the spot and the sea conditions. Sylvain will teach you to surf but also to progress in complete safety. The advice will also cover understanding the sea and its dangers.
From there, you will determine the objectives of the session together. Then, you will be offered a simple and effective warm-up.
Before going into the water, on the sand, you will receive all the advice and demonstrations that will allow you to understand the movements and progress in your surfing, as well as to improve your choice of waves and your positioning in the water.
During the session, your instructor is with you in the water. He will adapt to your level, either by helping you to start your waves or to get out to sea, while analyzing your positions in order to take you back to the beach several times to debrief on your latest waves.
Known for his smile and good humor, Sylvain makes it a point to ensure that a lesson is, in addition to learning, a time for discussion, sharing, and above all, fun, because that's also the spirit of surfing.
