Caen, whispers of water and stone - guided tour of a city of water｜France

What is a "crétine"? Why is the Church of Saint John leaning? What did the people of Caen fish for? Where could you park your boat in the town center?

Our visit will begin with the meadow, a vast expanse that has remained wild due to its frequent flooding and is today a treasure trove of biodiversity.
During our stroll, we will rediscover the town center, which we will compare with old engravings and paintings of the "Venice of Normandy". We will walk along the harbor and its wharves to remind ourselves of the harbor's essential role in the city's development.
We will end with the peninsula, where the city's imagined future collides with the realities of climate change
