ข้อมูลสินค้า

Embark on a captivating 90-minute journey through one of the world's most extraordinary collections of ancient civilizations.

Step into the British Museum on a journey through some of the most powerful civilizations of the ancient world. We begin by looking at the museum itself, its striking classical architecture, and the story of how this world-famous institution came to house objects from across human history. From there, we move into Ancient Egypt, where the Rosetta Stone opens the door to the world of hieroglyphs, kingship, religion, and the beliefs surrounding death and the afterlife. Among statues, sacred imagery, and mummies, we explore how the Egyptians understood both life and eternity, and how the biblical figure Moses could fit into all of this. Before continuing eastward, we also stop to see the famous Gilgamesh Flood Tablet, which preserves the earliest known written version of the great flood story.

Our journey then continues eastward into the world of ancient Assyria, where monumental sculptures, royal city gates, and the famous lion hunt reliefs reveal the power, symbolism, and imperial ambition of one of history's greatest empires. Finally, we arrive in ancient Greece, where the sculptures of the Parthenon allow us to discuss mythology, religion, artistic achievement, and the enduring legacy of Athens. Throughout the tour, the aim is not simply to see famous objects, but to understand the people, ideas, and civilizations behind them through clear explanation and engaging storytelling.

This tour is ideal for adults, families, couples, and curious travellers who want more than a simple walk through the galleries. It is designed to be easy to follow, engaging, and accessible whether this is your first visit to the British Museum or you already have a strong interest in history.

Your guide, Jorge Campos Olcina, holds a BA in Ancient and Medieval History and has experience leading tours at the British Museum. With a background in secondary school teaching, he brings both academic knowledge and practical guiding experience to the tour. His aim is to make the museum come alive through clear explanation and engaging storytelling.

Arrival Time: Please try to arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the tour, as entry queues can sometimes be long. Please also pay attention to your phone in case you get delayed in the queue or become lost, so that we may be able to reach you by phone.

Meeting Point: We meet inside the grounds of the British Museum, after passing through the front queue, in the colonnade by the entrance stairs. Please make sure to enter through the front entrance, not the back entrance, and avoid wandering into the museum before the tour starts, as we may not be able to find you.

Your Guide: Your guide will be Jorge. You will be able to recognise him at the meeting point, wearing a white button-up shirt, with a beard, and carrying the ATONU flag.
