Peak District: Classic Car Driving Experience & Museum Entry｜United Kingdom

Relive the golden age of British motoring with the “Drive Dad’s Car” experience at Ambergate, just minutes from the Peak District. Choose from over 50 iconic British classics, from the Morris Minor to the Jaguar XJS, and enjoy a 20-minute instructor-accompanied drive on a private road network. This hands-on experience is perfect for car lovers, nostalgia seekers, and anyone curious about the cars that shaped Britain’s roads.

Your adventure begins at the Great British Car Journey site, where you’ll meet your instructor and select your dream car from a carefully curated fleet. After a safety briefing, take the wheel for multiple laps on the private circuit, with your instructor offering tips and stories along the way. The experience includes a professional souvenir photo of you in your chosen car, capturing the moment for years to come.

With your driving experience, you’ll also receive complimentary entry to the Great British Car Journey museum, worth £19.50, where you can explore over 150 British cars and delve deeper into the nation’s motoring heritage. Friends and family accompanying you benefit from discounted museum entry, making it a memorable day out for everyone.

Please note: Drives are available only on selected days, and advance booking is essential. After purchasing your voucher, you must contact the booking office to arrange your preferred date, time, and car (eligible cars are in the 'classic' category). On the day of your booked drive, simply show your voucher and driver’s license to check in and get ready to drive. Anyone that shows without pre-booking their drive will not be able to take part in the experience.
