My name is David. I speak English, French, and German. I'm an ex-student of the University of Cambridge, and an experienced guide. I have colleagues who speak Chinese and other languages.
Let me take you on a journey of discovery through the University.
Our tour will last around 2 and a half hours.
We'll visit some of the main sights, and some of the places where world history and science were revolutionised. You'll hear some strong stories from behind the scenes of world-shaping events. All so that you get a feel of the unique place you're vying to be a part of, and fully appreciate these hallowed halls of learning.
We'll talk about how the University is organised, and about the 31 colleges; about the admission process, and the criteria to bear in mind when choosing a college. About what a college actually is, and how it functions.
We'll explore the historic city centre and its amenities. It's full of quaint shops, old narrow lanes, amazing architecture and green parks. It will inspire you, just like it has inspired generations of poets, writers, actors, scientists, philosophers, statesmen and women!
It's safe, walkable, everything is accessible in minutes by bicycle and it's gorgeous. You'll be amazed.
Above all, I'll be there to answer all your questions, and if I can't find a suitable answer myself, we'll consult someone who can.
As part of the tour, we will try to visit a college, subject to the number of guests on the tour.
There will be the option to see more than one college for an additional fee, which we will negotiate on-site - again, depending on group size.
We will also try to access one of the faculties that is of greatest relevance to your planned degree in Cambridge.
