Day 1

Leaving Bristol behind, cross the River Severn and enter Wales, a small country rich in history, culture, and dramatic scenery. As you pass industrial cities and travel toward the coast, your driver-guide brings the landscape to life with local stories and legends. Your first stop is St Fagans National Museum of History, one of Europe’s finest open-air museums. Step back in time as you explore historic Welsh buildings relocated from across the country, including traditional cottages, workshops, and the elegant St Fagans Castle and Gardens.

Continue west into Pembrokeshire, the birthplace of Wales’ patron saint, stopping in a welcoming market town for lunch before reaching the coast. The afternoon is dedicated to Pembrokeshire’s breathtaking shoreline, where towering cliffs, sweeping sandy bays, and clear waters create unforgettable photo opportunities.

Later, arrive in the charming harbour town of Tenby. Known for its medieval walls, colourful houses, and golden beaches, Tenby offers free time to explore at your own pace. Wander cobbled streets, stroll along the seafront, or relax on the sand. As evening falls, enjoy dinner in one of the town’s inviting pubs or restaurants, sampling fresh local seafood or regional favourites.

Day 2

This morning, visit St Davids, the smallest city in Britain. Named after Wales’ patron saint, it’s home to the magnificent cathedral, tucked into a sheltered valley. Browse local shops, explore the cathedral, and soak up the peaceful atmosphere.

Continue along the coast to Laugharne, set on the estuary of the River Tâf. Here, you may visit Dylan Thomas Boathouse, where the poet spent his final years, or enjoy a relaxed walk near the castle with a coffee.

Turning inland, travel through rolling countryside to Carreg Cennen Castle. Dramatically perched on a limestone crag, this atmospheric ruin offers panoramic views and a fascinating natural cave beneath the castle. Warm up with traditional Welsh cawl in the farmhouse before continuing through the wild landscapes of Bannau Brycheiniog National Park. After scenic photo stops, arrive in the lively market town of Abergavenny for your overnight stay.

Day 3

Depart Abergavenny and head to Hay-on-Wye, the world’s first book town. Spend the morning browsing its many independent bookshops and market stalls, enjoying a relaxed coffee break among literary treasures.

Cross briefly into England to Ross-on-Wye for lunch and time to explore local shops, before returning to Wales and visiting Tintern Abbey. Set beside the River Wye, this 12th-century Gothic masterpiece stands in hauntingly beautiful ruins.

Your final stop is Chepstow, where you can walk across the Old Town Bridge between England and Wales, admire the Norman castle, and enjoy dramatic estuary views before returning to Bristol at approximately 5:15pm.
