City Hunt in Hamburg – The Exciting City Tour for School Classes and Groups
Experience Hamburg in a completely different way: On this special guided city tour, the city center becomes the stage for an exciting individual chase. Instead of a classic guided tour, school classes, youth groups, or even company outings can expect an interactive adventure that requires team spirit, a sense of direction, and quick decision-making.
The focus is on a real person – an experienced city guide who also takes on the role of the "fugitive." Similar to the well-known game Scotland Yard, the guide moves through the city center of Hamburg and reports at regular intervals with clues from different locations. The groups' task: correctly interpret clues, plan routes cleverly, and track down the city guide as quickly as possible.
This is expressly a real tour of the city – no mobile app, no computer game, and no virtual scavenger hunt. The participants actively move through Hamburg's streets, discover famous landmarks and hidden corners, and experience the city up close.
During the hunt, the groups also learn exciting facts about Hamburg. Depending on the route, the tours lead, for example, through the historic old town, around the Binnenalster, through the Speicherstadt, or to well-known squares in the city center. At selected points, the city guide not only provides new location clues, but also interesting information about the history, architecture and significance of the respective places.
Different tour options allow for customization based on age, group size, and time frame. There are specially designed programs for school classes, for example, which, in addition to fun, also focus on educational aspects such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. The tours are also ideal for company outings or private groups who want to get to know Hamburg in an unusual and active way.
The city hunt promotes cooperation and strategic thinking, because only those who communicate well as a team and combine the clues correctly have a chance to be the city guide. At the same time, the playful concept ensures that even participants who are less interested in history remain motivated.
Whether as a hiking day, a field trip program item, a team-building event or a group outing – this special city tour combines exercise, knowledge and excitement to create an unforgettable Hamburg experience.
These tours have been taking place very successfully since 1998 and took 3rd place in the ADAC Tourism Award in 2016. We work with many schools, government agencies, and partners.
