Start of the route: Descent into the tropical dry forest
Our adventure begins at dawn in Barichara, where the day's first light illuminates the cobblestone streets. From here, we head towards Villa Nueva, a small town that marks the starting point for the great descent.

The Camino Real, an ancient route built by the Guanes indigenous people and restored during the colonial period, will guide us downhill on a full immersion into the tropical dry forest. With each step, we will delve deeper into this extreme ecosystem, where the sun beats down intensely, vegetation struggles to survive, and the terrain presents challenges with its constant transformation.

Jordán: In the heart of the canyon
As we descend, the trail becomes more challenging until we reach Jordán, the least populated town in Colombia, nestled in the heart of the Chicamocha Valley. Here, we will cross its ancient stone bridge, a witness to centuries of history and a point of connection between worlds. We will take a strategic break to hydrate and recharge our energy before the final challenge: the ascent to Los Santos.

The ultimate challenge: Ascent to Los Santos
This section is the true test of endurance. The slope becomes steeper, and the heat of the canyon adds an extra challenge. However, the reward is unparalleled: From the summit, the Chicamocha Canyon unfolds in all its immensity, with the river meandering hundreds of feet below and a horizon shaped by time.

Epic Finale: Cable Car Over the Abyss
To top it all off, we will board the Chicamocha Cable Car, soaring above the abyss on a 45-minute journey that offers an unparalleled view of the canyon. Back on dry land, we'll enjoy a well-deserved break with a cup of Santander coffee as the sunset paints the landscape in golden hues.
