Your experience begins with a meeting with the local guide at the entrance to Rocinha, where you'll receive a brief introduction to the history, culture and daily life of Rio de Janeiro's largest favela. Then we'll set off on a motorcycle taxi ride through the streets of the community, one of the most traditional forms of transport used by the residents. During the ride to the host's home, you will be able to observe up close the hustle and bustle of the favela, its unique architecture, and the daily life of the community, enjoying an authentic experience of local life.
When we arrive at the host's home, you'll be welcomed into a warm and inviting family atmosphere. On the roof of the house, overlooking the community, there will be a more detailed explanation of the history of the favela, its culture, interesting facts, and how the daily life of the residents works.
Next, we'll start a fun class on how to make the traditional Brazilian caipirinha. You'll learn about the ingredients, the preparation and the history of this typical drink, and you'll be able to make and taste your own caipirinha.
After the activity, a typical Brazilian lunch prepared by the host's family will be served, with traditional dishes that vary depending on the day of the week, such as stroganoff, feijoada or BBQ. During lunch, visitors can relax, chat, take photos, and enjoy the view from the rooftop and the unique atmosphere of the community.
At the end of the experience, we'll take a short walk through the community to the initial meeting point, where the activity will conclude. So, you'll end the tour with an authentic experience of Carioca culture and life in Rocinha.
