From Djerba: Tataouine & Chenini - Between History & the Desert｜Tunisia

After pickup and crossing the Roman causeway (for guests from Djerba), we will head to the small Chott de la Chahbania with a stop to see this fascinating sight up close. We will then continue to the town of Tataouine, where we will arrive and have some free time, followed by a departure for Chenini for an optional hike on the slopes of this ancient abandoned village of Berber origin, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lunch will be served at a restaurant below, where a delicious couscous awaits you. After lunch, we'll set off to visit Ksar Hadada, a former granary in the region where people used to store their food. Although there is no trace of the set, please note that some scenes from the Star Wars movie were filmed in the second ksar in July 1997.
