Experience one of Costa Rica’s top wildlife adventures by combining a visit to the Jaguar Rescue Center Foundation (JRC) with a full-day ethical horseback journey through the Southern Caribbean. More than a tour, this is an immersive experience where beautiful rescued horses become your trusted partners, letting you discover pristine beaches, lush rainforest and hidden places that cannot be experienced in the same way by car or on foot.

Your day begins at the JRC, where you’ll discover the work to rescue, rehabilitate and protect Costa Rica’s native wildlife. Afterwards, continue your adventure on horseback, exploring where tropical rainforest meets the Caribbean Sea.

Depending on riding ability, weather, tides and trail conditions, your guide will choose the best route through Cocles, Playa Escondida, Punta Cocles, Playa Chiquita, Punta Uva, Arrecife, Playa Grande and, when possible, Manzanillo. Every ride is carefully adapted to each guest, from complete beginners to experienced riders.

Travelling on horseback allows you to connect with nature like few other experiences. Along the route you may encounter sloths, monkeys, toucans, green macaws, iguanas and many other species living freely in one of Costa Rica’s richest ecosystems. Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed—this is not a zoo, but an authentic rainforest where nature always leads the experience.

Midway through the adventure you’ll stop to enjoy a local lunch, including a main course and one beverage, before continuing your ride.
