I enjoyed a different experience in Argentine Patagonia, traveling from El Calafate to El Chaltén to witness one of the most breathtaking moments in southern Argentina: sunrise in front of Mount Fitz Roy.
The adventure begins in the early morning, traveling along the legendary Route 40 as we cross the vastness of the Patagonian steppe, surrounded by mountains, glacial rivers, and the unique landscapes of Los Glaciares National Park.
This sightseeing tour was specially designed to arrive in El Chaltén at the exact moment when the first light of day begins to color the granite spires of Mount Fitz Roy. During the scenic stop, you'll have time to enjoy the landscape, take photos, and experience an unforgettable moment surrounded by wild nature and the fresh air of Patagonia.
After sunrise, we'll continue exploring some of the area's most iconic sites. We'll visit Chorrillo del Salto Waterfall, a beautiful cascade surrounded by Patagonian Andean forest, perfect for relaxing and connecting with the natural environment.
The experience also includes a short and accessible hike to the Mirador de los Cóndores, one of the most outstanding vantage points in El Chaltén. From there, we will have privileged views of the valley of the De las Vueltas River, the surrounding mountains, and the village nestled in the heart of the mountain range. With a bit of luck, you'll be able to spot condors soaring over the region.
Throughout the tour, we'll make various scenic stops to admire lakes, mountains, glaciers, and typical Patagonian wildlife, while a local guide shares stories, interesting facts, and information about the region's nature and culture.
The excursion is conducted in small groups to provide a more comfortable, personalized experience, far removed from mass tours.
At the end of the day, we'll head back to El Calafate after having experienced an unforgettable day among sunrises, mountains, and some of the most iconic landscapes of southern Patagonia.
