Day 1: Transfer to Akagera National Park & Big Five Game Drive

Your 3-day tour begins at 5:00am, with an early morning pickup from Kigali, followed by a scenic drive through Rwanda’s beautiful countryside to Akagera National Park. Upon arrival, embark on an exciting game drive across the park’s rolling savannah plains, wetlands, and woodlands.

Keep your camera ready as you search for elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, antelopes, and, with luck, lions and rhinos. The game drive offers excellent opportunities for wildlife photography and unforgettable close encounters with Rwanda’s incredible animals.

Thereafter, Return to Kigali for dinner and Overnight Stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park Via King’s Palace Museum

After breakfast, depart Kigali and journey toward Nyungwe National Park, one of Africa’s oldest and most biodiverse rainforests. Along the way, stop at the King’s Palace Museum in Nyanza, where you’ll discover the fascinating history of Rwanda’s monarchy.

Visit the beautifully reconstructed traditional royal residence and meet the magnificent Inyambo royal cattle, famous for their impressive long horns and elegant ceremonial traditions. This cultural experience provides a unique insight into Rwanda’s rich heritage.

Continue your scenic drive through lush hills, tea plantations, and picturesque rural landscapes before arriving in Nyungwe National Park for relaxation and preparation for the next day’s primate adventure.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking, Canopy Walk & Return to Kigali

Rise early for one of Rwanda’s most exciting wildlife experiences—chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe’s ancient rainforest. Guided by experienced park rangers, trek through the forest while listening to the sounds of birds, monkeys, and the rainforest awakening around you.

Finding a troop of wild chimpanzees is an unforgettable moment as you observe their playful behavior, social interactions, and incredible intelligence in their natural habitat.

After the trek, experience the spectacular Nyungwe Canopy Walk, suspended high above the forest floor. Walk across the hanging bridge while enjoying breathtaking panoramic views of the rainforest canopy, waterfalls, and the surrounding mountains.
