The island is made up of two islets, located on a plateau but very close to the drop-off of the Mozambique Channel. It is a prime habitat and migratory route for several species of dolphins and humpback whales. It is also a nesting site for green turtles and hawksbill turtles. On our day trips to Iranja, you will almost certainly have the chance to swim with turtles in crystal-clear waters. At low tide, you can enjoy this incredible place, but be careful not to get caught out when the tide comes in! Turquoise water surrounds the lagoon, reflecting the sunlight and making the sea sparkle.

Program:
We arrange pickup from your hotel to the starting point, which is usually from 8:45 a.m. The departure from Ambatoloaka Beach is at approximately 13°23′ S latitude and 48°12′ E longitude [-13.3833, 48.2 in decimal degrees]. The day trip participants gather and then board for a 1.5-hour journey to Nosy Iranja, with the possibility of a stop on Nosy Antsiha to visit the Lemur Island, where there are three species to discover.
Upon arrival at Iranja, we suggest a walk to the lighthouse to enjoy a panoramic view and take photos of the sandbank. Then, you will have some time to enjoy the beach and go swimming before a seafood lunch.
Drop-off at 3:00 PM at the boat to return to Nosy Be.
