Day 1: Bujumbura International pick up and transfer to your hotel

Upon your arrival, meet your professional driver-guide who will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel.

Day 2: Kibira National Park hike, Teza Tea Plantation experience

After breakfast, drive for about 1 hour to Kibira National Park and start hiking. The hike can range from an easy walk to a challenging trek, lasting from 2 to 5 hours.

Later, visit the Teza Tea Plantation, lying on the edge of Kibira National Park and participate with the harvesting team. Then, drive about 1 hour to Gitega and stay at Jerusalem Hotel.

Day 3: Gishora Drum Sanctuary and Burundi Intore warriors

After breakfast, visit Gishora Drum Sanctuary. Later, drive a little bit to immerse yourself in Burundian culture and witness the Intore warriors, an elite group of fighters known for their skills and bravery. Their legacy lives on through the Intore dance, a traditional Burundian dance performed to this day.

Day 4: Ruvubu National Park visit
After breakfast, drive about 3 hours to reach Ruvubu National Park. The park is home to a variety of animals including hippos, Nile crocodiles, Cape buffalos, waterbucks, and many primates. Go on a game safari to explore the wildlife in their natural habitat or take a boat safari to explore the aquatic wildlife.

Day 5: Karera waterfall experience
After breakfast, drive toward Rutana, a 3-hour drive. Experience the Karera waterfalls, divided into 4 waterfalls. The waters from the waterfalls are believed to have healing powers. Step into the water to seek divine healing.

Day 6: Nyakazu fault (Germany fault)

After breakfast, visit the Nyakazu fault, also known as the German fault. Learn about the resistance of King Mwambutsa’s soldiers toward German soldiers and how the German soldiers were defeated during the war.

Day 7: Chimpanzee trek in Bururi Forest Nature Reserve

After breakfast, drive towards Bururi and get lost in the forest nature reserve, considered a link between heaven and earth. The forest inhabits many animals and plant species. Have a chance to see some rare and endemic bird species in the Albertine Rift Valley region.

Day 8: Rumonge palm oil plantation experience and Rumonge fishing experience
After breakfast, go fishing along Tanganyika Lake. In Rumonge, the fourth largest city in Burundi, be amazed by the huge palm oil plantation. Experience how palm oil is processed from the farm to the final product. Later, witness how Mukeke and Ndagara, a type of fish from Lake Tanganyika, are made from freshness to dryness.

Day 9: Transfer to Bujumbura, Livingstone-Stanley monument

After breakfast, drive about 2.5 hours towards Bujumbura and en route, visit the Livingstone-Stanley memorial to learn about the history and culture of Burundi and how Stanley met David Livingstone, a pioneer Christian missionary who explored Africa in pursuit of the Nile.

Day 10: Bujumbura city tour and transfer to Bujumbura International airport to fly back to your home.
