Meet your guide at The Westin Beijing Chaoyang (Address: No. 7 Dongdaqiao Road, Chaoyang District, Beijing) at 8:00 AM to start this exclusive journey. Limited to a maximum of 8 people, this tour guarantees a personalized, immersive experience—far from the chaos of large groups where guides can’t offer detailed attention.
First, we’ll head to the Mutianyu Great Wall via comfortable, reliable transportation. Upon arrival, you can freely choose to take the cable car or ropeway to ascend the wall (note: cable car/ropeway fees are at your own expense; tour fees only include entry tickets to the Mutianyu Great Wall and Summer Palace).
Our expert guide will accompany you to the Great Wall and stay by your side to bring its history to life with in-depth explanations: you’ll learn about the wall’s ancient military defense strategies, the heroic stories of soldiers who once guarded it, and how it evolved over centuries. Unlike large tours where you’re left to explore alone, here you can ask questions freely, and the guide will tailor insights to your interests. After learnt the history, you’ll also get dedicated free time to wander independently—explore the watchtowers and battlements, find quiet, crowd-free corners to soak in the tranquility, or snap unique photos of the breathtaking mountain views—all at your own pace. Before moving on, you’ll regroup with your guide at a prearranged meeting point.
After exploring the Great Wall, we’ll enjoy a delicious included lunch to refuel, before heading to the Summer Palace. We’ll enter through the East Palace Gate, stepping into a world of imperial beauty and rich cultural heritage. Walk along the Long Corridor—adorned with hundreds of colorful paintings depicting historical events, myths, and ancient literary scenes—and meander around Kunming Lake, where expansive waters, gracefully arched bridges, and elegant shoreline pavilions create a harmonious, serene backdrop.
Our guide will continue to share detailed stories throughout your visit: you’ll discover the cultural significance of the palace’s iconic structures, the artistry behind the delicate carvings on buildings, the clever design of the artfully arranged rockeries, and how this imperial garden served as a leisure retreat for the royal family. With our small group size, you can pause anytime to inspect details up close, linger at your favorite spots, or dive deeper into topics that interest you—no rushing, no missing key highlights.
At the end of the tour, we’ll safely transport you back to downtown Beijing. This 8-person max small-group experience ensures you get the most out of both landmarks: expert historical insights, the flexibility to choose your Great Wall ascent method and explore freely, and a relaxed atmosphere that large tours simply can’t match—creating memories that will last a lifetime.
