Embark on a half-day adventure in Beijing designed to optimise your time and deepen your understanding of China's rich history and culture.

After gathering at the meeting point, your tour guide will lead you through a dedicated agency entrance to Tian'anmen Square, allowing you to skip the long security lines. Upon arrival, the guide offers comprehensive commentary on the square's landmarks: the Great Hall of the People, National Museum of China, Mao Zedong Mausoleum, and Monument to the People's Heroes. You'll gain insights into their architectural significance and the pivotal historical events that have unfolded here throughout history.

Your exploration continues as you traverse Tian'anmen Square towards Tian'anmen Gate, leading you into the Forbidden City via the Meridian Gate. As the world's largest and most intact ancient imperial palace complex, it houses an extraordinary collection of cultural relics. The guided visit includes the main buildings along the central axis, followed by two western courtyards.

The guided portion of your visit concludes at the Imperial Garden. From this point, you may choose to continue exploring independently or seek advice from your guide on the best places to hail a taxi for your next destination.

  • Meeting point description: Meet your guide in front of Beijing Planning Exhibition Hall (北京规划展览馆). By subway: line 2/8 at Qianmen Station, exit E2, then walk 400 meters. Make sure to get off at Qianmen Station, not the Tian'anmen East or West. Please arrive 10 minutes before the tour starts.(20 Qianmen East Street, Dongcheng, Beijing, China 100051)

  • Accessibility:This tour is not recommended for those with physical/visual impairments or mobility restrictions

  • Not allowed:Luggage or large bags, camera tripods, drones, paper and pens

  • Know in advance:Please indicate each participant's full name and passport number when you confirm your booking

  • Infants (age 0-2) can join the tour for free

  • The tour departs on time. No joining is possible once departed, and no refunds will be given for latecomers

  • Chinese citizens (including Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan) need to book this tour 7 days in advance. By regulation, please submit Chinese name and ID number when reserving and present the ID on the tour day to join the group

  • Tiananmen Square may close unannounced due to government activities, in which case it will be skipped. No refunds will be paid as the square is free

  • Security checks at Tiananmen Square are strict. If waiting exceeds 1 hour, consider an alternative: taking a bus past the square. Sweltering heat risks heat-related illnesses

  • In case that Forbidden City tickets are sold-out, due to the real-name system, you might need to collect your tickets with your passports at the ticket office under the guide's assistance
