[Cinque Terre Pass Instructions]
1. The Cinque Terre pass can only be purchased on-site for €27 per person and is valid until 24:00 on the same day.
2. After arriving at Cinque Terre station, you can buy a Cinque Terre pass in the hall (at your own expense). Cinque Terre is actually 5 different small fishing villages, which need to be reached by train. It is recommended to learn how to buy the pass at the self-service machine in advance. After buying the pass, you can start to visit the 5 villages. Generally, you visit the villages in the order of 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 (taking the train towards Levanto). Finally, you return directly from village 5 (returning towards La Spezia). If you have limited time, you don't need to visit every village. It is recommended to visit villages 1, 2, and 5, with village 2 being a must-see.
3. The villages are very close to each other, usually within 5-10 minutes. You can take a picture of the train timetable at the station to plan your visit time and travel time to each village in advance. Group tour time is limited, so we recommend the following order: go to village 1 first, then village 2 to watch the sunset, and choose either village 4 or 5.
4. The pass allows you to use the toilet for free at the village train station; otherwise, it costs €1.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa's enduring stability is a testament to significant engineering interventions. Experts implemented soil extraction from the raised side, added counterweights, and installed steel cables. These efforts carefully reduced the tower's lean and reinforced its foundation, ensuring its structural integrity for continued preservation.
Yes, visitors are permitted to ascend the Leaning Tower of Pisa. The climb involves navigating approximately 294 steps of a spiral staircase. From the top, visitors are rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the entire Piazza dei Miracoli and the city of Pisa, offering a truly unique perspective from the famous tilted structure.
The Leaning Tower of Pisa is situated in the city of Pisa, which is part of the Tuscany region in Italy. It stands majestically in the Piazza dei Miracoli (Square of Miracles), a UNESCO World Heritage site, alongside other iconic structures like the Pisa Cathedral, Baptistery, and Monumental Cemetery.
Following extensive stabilization efforts completed in the early 2000s, the Leaning Tower of Pisa's tilt was significantly reduced. The inclination was brought back to an angle similar to its state in the early 19th century. Currently, the measured tilt is approximately 3.97 degrees from the vertical.
Beyond ascending the tower itself, visitors can immerse themselves in the rich history and stunning architecture of the Piazza dei Miracoli. This includes exploring the magnificent Duomo (Cathedral), the ornate Baptistery, and the historic Campo Santo (Monumental Cemetery), all offering opportunities to admire Romanesque art and capture iconic photographs.
The Leaning Tower of Pisa began tilting shortly after its construction started in 1173, primarily due to its shallow foundation on soft, unstable subsoil. Over centuries, various stabilization efforts have been undertaken. The most critical interventions involved systematically removing soil from beneath the tower's raised side, adding counterweights, and reinforcing its base to halt further leaning and secure its preservation for future generations.
Cinque Terre, a UNESCO World Heritage site, comprises five picturesque coastal villages: Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza, and Monterosso al Mare. Visitors can enjoy hiking scenic trails connecting the villages, savoring fresh local seafood, swimming in the Mediterranean, exploring charming narrow streets, and capturing breathtaking photographs of the colorful landscapes.
For convenient travel from Florence to both the Leaning Tower of Pisa and Cinque Terre, especially for a single-day trip, joining an organized tour is highly recommended. These tours typically provide comfortable, hassle-free transportation, often with a professional Chinese-speaking guide or driver, managing all logistical details. This allows visitors to fully enjoy the journey and attractions without the complexities of public transportation changes.
