Stepping inside this Gothic-style church, built during the Meiji era, you will be captivated by the beautiful stained glass windows. Inside, many materials related to the history of hidden Christians in the Goto Islands are on display. *Separate admission fee of 500 yen.

• Ishida Castle Ruins (viewed from the train window) was built in preparation for the arrival of the Black Ships. Known as Japan's last sea castle built during the Edo period, its stone walls and moats still remain, conveying the atmosphere of a castle town. • "Samurai Residence Street," where samurai once lived (view from the bus window / disembark if desired) You'll travel through the samurai residence street, which still remains near the remains of Fukue Castle. The stone walls, constructed from lava rocks from Goto's Onidake Mountain, are topped with "koboreishi" (split stones) that warned of enemy invasions. • Daihoji Temple (get off the train to visit), known as an ancient temple. This historic temple is said to have been founded during the Nara period, and its main hall and stone Buddha statues stand quietly there over the years. In Goto, which is known for its church culture, this is a place where you can experience the ancient Buddhist faith and get a feel for the island's multi-layered history.
• Osezaki Lighthouse, one of Japan's 50 Best Lighthouses (disembark for a tour) This beautiful church, the largest wooden church on the Goto Islands, boasts pure white exterior walls that stand out against the blue sea and sky. Its white walls, made from burnt seashells, and its appearance blending seamlessly into the quiet village are truly impressive.

• Imachiura Church (stop and visit), home to Japan's oldest Lourdes grotto. This church is the only one where hidden Christians who moved to the Goto Islands during the strict anti-Christian policies of the Edo period hid and managed to escape persecution and preserve their faith.
