- The National Museum of Natural Science's main building, themed around the integration of science and technology, everyday life, art, and a human-centered approach, was completed in four phases. The facilities and exhibition themes for each phase are as follows: "Phase 1: Space Theater, Phase 2: Life Sciences Hall, Phase 3: Human Culture Hall, and Phase 4: Earth Environment Hall."
The science center aims to encourage hands-on activities and active participation from visitors, sparking their interest in exploration. Through scientific, challenging, entertaining, and exploratory exhibits and activities, it fulfills the museum's educational function. The Life Sciences Hall, themed around the mysteries of nature, utilizes 13 exhibition areas to present natural phenomena and the dynamics of evolution. Starting from the origin of life, it vividly introduces the rise, evolution, and adaptation of various life forms, and explores human birth, aging, illness, and death, with some life forms even facing extinction in the process of evolution. - The Science Center teaches science through play. It aims to encourage hands-on learning and active participation, sparking interest through interactive exhibits and activities. - The botanical garden covers an area of approximately 4.5 hectares and features the unique ecology of Taiwan's low-altitude regions and tropical rainforests as its main theme. It carefully selects and examines several representative ecological areas of Taiwan for landscaping.
