Visit the Tateshina Kogen Barakura English Garden opened in the early summer of 1990 as Japan's first authentic English garden.
Covering an area of about 10,000 square meters, the garden was created by British experts under the unified design of the owner, Kei Yamada.
Initially, the designers planted the flowers themselves, including 2500 flowers transplanted from England. Now that they're all growing beautifully, we rely on careful maintenance and yearly blooms to keep the garden looking its best.

Whether you love progenitor roses, grove roses, or climbing roses, you can enjoy the best part of an English garden by viewing our collections of seasonal roses and plants.
- Harvest Festival (4th-31st Oct)
We are planning to hold a traditional Barakura garden display to express the joy of harvesting, along with a gorgeous group planting art exhibition and an autumn taste farmer's market.
