— What You Can Expect —

The paradise of cat lovers — Tashiro Island (Tashiro-jima, 田代島), also known as Cat Island in Miyagi Prefecture is in the Pacific Ocean in Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture, Tohoku Region. There are more cats than humans, so it is also called "Cat Island", which has attracted the attention of cat lovers. The only way to get here is by speedboat or ferry. There is "Cat Shrine (美興利大明神)" on the island, and there is also a small shop called "Island station (島の駅)". Tashiro Island is a healing resort for many cats to live comfortably. Walk around the island, watch the scenery, pet the cats, take pictures, and enjoy some relaxing time!

Take the bus to Ishinomaki Port (石卷港) and then take the ferry to Tashirojima (田代島). Disembark at the port of Nitota (仁斗田港) on Tashiro Island and enjoy free time on the island to meet the cats and kittens living freely on the island. Take a walk around the island (stay for about 240 minutes), depart from Odomari Port (大泊港) or Nitoda Port (仁斗田港) on Tashiro Island (Please note that the ferries from the 2 ports depart at different times. The details on the day from the ferry company shall be final). Take the ferry back to Ishinomaki Port, return to the exclusive bus, and to the east exit of JR Sendai Station (JR 仙台駅).

  • There is no tour guide for this tour. If there are more than 16 people in the group, a tour coordinator (English or Chinese) can be arranged to accompany you

  • Please note that the ports of embarkation and disembarkation are different. Please pay attention to the disembarkation time and come to the right port on time

  • If the ferry company suspends the ferry due to force majeure such as weather conditions, it will be notified by email before 9:00 am (local time) on the day of departure at the latest

  • Seats cannot be assigned on buses and ferries. The size of the vehicle will be arranged according to the number of participants on the day

  • The itinerary does not include lunch, it is recommended that participants bring their own light snacks

  • Please do not feed cats on the island. There are also cars on the island so please pay attention to your safety especially when taking photos on the road. The island has residents, please do not enter private homes or private land

  • From time to time, the ferry company may adjust or change the ferry schedule. In such cases, customer service will contact you to inform the change and adjust the schedule

  • Sometimes the ferry will not go to Odomari Port due to the weather, please follow the ferry company's arrangement on the day

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations 22 day(s) (inclusive) before the selected date are allowed. Unused orders can be canceled for free
  • For cancellations made 15 to 21 days prior to selected date, a cancellation fee of 20% will apply
  • For cancellations made 8 to 14 days prior to selected date, a cancellation fee of 30% will apply
  • For cancellations made 3 to 7 days prior to selected date, a cancellation fee of 50% will apply
  • For cancellations made 1 to 2 days prior to selected date, a cancellation fee of 80% will apply
  • Cancellation is not allowed between 0–0 days from the selected date. Orders cannot be canceled or modified, and refunds will not be granted.
NOTE
  • Due to time zone differences, the confirmed cancellation date is based on the supplier’s local time. Please allow 2–5 business days to process your cancellation request, after which the cancellation fee will be charged according to the product’s cancellation policy. Once the cancellation is confirmed, you will receive your refund within 14 working days.
