The parasailing and skydiving experiences in Okinawa are distinct. Parasailing is usually towed by a boat, reaching an altitude of about 40-50 meters above the sea, with a gentle ascent and descent. It offers a relaxed enjoyment of high-altitude sea views, suitable for tourists who want to experience the fun of being in the air without excessive thrills. Skydiving, on the other hand, involves jumping from an airplane at a much higher altitude with rapid freefall, catering to those seeking extreme excitement. This tour is for parasailing, providing a safe and stable way to admire the picturesque sea and sky.
Snorkeling in the Keigannse area of Okinawa is generally most comfortable and suitable from late spring to autumn (approximately April to October). During this period, the water temperature is warm, averaging around 25-30°C, visibility is high, and the weather is stable, making it the best time to see tropical fish and coral reefs. Although the water temperature is lower in winter (November to March), snorkeling is still possible with a wetsuit, but the comfort level of water activities may be slightly affected, and wave conditions should be monitored.
The Keigannse Islands in Okinawa are very suitable for beginner snorkelers due to their protected waters, which have relatively calm currents and clear seawater. Professional instructors will be present to guide you and provide safety equipment like life jackets. This area is characterized by its rich diversity of tropical fish schools and beautiful coral reef ecosystems. Even first-time snorkelers can easily admire the vibrant underwater world and experience the surprise of being surrounded by fish.
We recommend wearing a swimsuit or lightweight clothing as a base layer, with an easily removable outer garment. A life jacket will be provided on-site. For pre-trip preparations, be sure to apply sunscreen, wear a hat, and sunglasses. If you are prone to seasickness, consider taking medication beforehand. For those wearing contact lenses, disposable lenses are recommended to avoid discomfort from seawater; spectacle wearers may consider prescription snorkeling masks or using glasses straps for security.
The most convenient way to get from Naha City to Mie-jō Port is by taxi, with a journey time of about 10-15 minutes, depending on the distance. You can also opt for Naha buses or the monorail to a nearby station, followed by a taxi transfer. For example, take the monorail to Kentsōmae or Asahibashi Station, then walk or take a taxi to your destination. It is advisable to allow ample time to ensure you arrive at the meeting point punctually.
By participating in the Keigannse parasailing and snorkeling tours, you can enjoy a dual pleasure of both the sky and the sea. Parasailing will lift you to a height of 40-50 meters above the sea, offering a unique perspective to overlook the azure waters and the beautiful scenery of the Keigannse islands, allowing you to experience the exhilaration of flight. During snorkeling, you can dive into the clear waters to get up close to colorful tropical fish swimming among the coral reefs, experiencing the rich marine ecosystem – a truly moving visual feast.
The half-day parasailing and snorkeling tours departing from Naha, Okinawa, are usually scheduled for either the morning or afternoon. The total duration is approximately 3 hours, including the boat trip from the port to the Keigannse waters, the parasailing experience (about 7-10 minutes in the air, with a total operation time of around 30 minutes), the snorkeling experience (about 40-60 minutes), and the return trip to the port. The specific timetable may vary slightly due to sea conditions and group size on the day.
