Product Info

Discover the history, culture and everyday life of Hanoi on a private half-day journey through the city’s historic center.

Your experience begins with private hotel pickup at 8:30 AM, followed by a visit to the iconic Hoan Kiem Lake, one of the most important cultural landmarks in Hanoi.

Explore the area around the King Ly Thai To Monument, learn about the history of the Ly Dynasty and the founding of Thang Long, and admire the legendary Turtle Tower across the lake.

Continue to Ngoc Son Temple, crossing the famous The Huc Bridge to discover the stories and legends connected with the lake. Spend approximately one hour exploring the Hoan Kiem Lake area.

Next, enter Hanoi’s atmospheric Old Quarter, where narrow streets, traditional houses and centuries-old businesses reveal another side of the city.

Visit 87 Ma May Ancient House, a nationally recognized heritage site. Step inside this traditional Hanoi house and learn how local families lived and worked in the Old Quarter in the past.

Continue to Bach Ma Temple, one of the Thang Long Four Guardian Temples, located at 76 Hang Buom Street. Discover the story of Long Do, the deity traditionally regarded as the guardian of the ancient Thang Long capital.

Your guide will then lead you through the lively streets toward Dong Xuan Market, Hanoi’s historic market and one of the best places to experience local daily life. Explore stalls selling fabrics, souvenirs and local products, while your guide introduces you to the market culture. You can also try some popular local snacks, such as bánh tôm (crispy shrimp cake) and bánh bột lọc (Vietnamese tapioca dumplings).

As you walk through the Old Quarter, your guide will bring the history of Hanoi’s famous 36 Streets and Guilds to life, explaining how each street traditionally became associated with particular trades and crafts.

The tour continues to 48 Hang Ngang, a historic house associated with President Ho Chi Minh and the drafting of Vietnam’s Declaration of Independence in 1945.

Finally, leave the busy streets behind and discover a hidden café tucked away in a small alley. Learn about the history and development of coffee culture in Vietnam before relaxing with a tasting of the famous Vietnamese egg coffee.

After four hours of history, local stories, traditional architecture, market life and Vietnamese coffee culture, your private tour ends at the hidden café at approximately 12:30 PM. The itinerary may be adjusted slightly depending on traffic, walking pace and local conditions while keeping the total experience at approximately 4 hours.
